SK Group, Korea’s third-largest conglomerate, announces additional investment in U.S.-based HelioVolt Corporation’s commercial expansion. HelioVolt manufactures monolithically integrated CIGS modules. Founded in 2001 with a strong R&D focus on honing its technology, HelioVolt recognized from its inception the demanding requirements on product performance and reliability needed for successful commercialization. This investment round from SK is intended to support factory expansion activities. Through its strong partnership with SK Group, HelioVolt is leveraging the opportunities provided by their global expertise in energy, engineering, manufacturing and project development. In turn, HelioVolt’s world-class products will accelerate SK’s initiative to impact the development of renewable energy globally.
